Reel to Real: Conversations that bring movies to life!

Reel to Real Returns to Washington Square!

Join us on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Washington Square Condominiums for a special St. Patrick's Day screening - a Japanese movie!

We will watch and discuss the 2018 film, Shoplifters, nominated for both an Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.  This film written and directed by Hirokazu Koreeda follows a deprived family who make ends meet through stealing what they need.  After taking in a little girl abused by her parents, the Shibata's already difficult life is made worse when a search is launched for the girl.   

Admission is free; donations appreciated!

Where:  Washington Square Condos Community Room, 750 Washington Road*

When:  Doors open at 6 pm.  Movie begins at 6:45 pm.

*To enter the condos at 750 Washington Road, enter the Lobby behind the Bill Few offices and dial 444 on the phone on your left.  Someone will answer the phone and buzz you into the lobby. From the lobby turn right to the elevator and take it down to the 3rd floor.  Turn left out of the elevator and the Social Room is the first door on your left.  

About Reel to Real

Reel to Real is an informal film event that invites community members to watch a movie and engage in a followup discussion after the screening.  It's a wonderful opportunity to revisit classic films, explore foreign films, and discover documentaries and edgy independent films.
